Fearne Cotton’s a dreamboat! Definitely the kind of girl we’d invite to the Alcopop staff Christmas party (so long as she got the first round in) and no doubt the kind who’d be up for a damn fine evening out, maybe taking in a sweaty gig followed by a kebab/fried chicken in the rain, before stumbling to some dodgy offy where we’d purchase insanely expensive cans of Tusker Kenyan lager. Would there be a fleeting/awkward kiss? Yeah probably, but I’m sure we could move beyond that.
So basically, what I’m saying is that she’d always be welcome at the Alcopop HQ – even more so now after having been snapped wearing a This City Tote bag, presumably containing a copy of the very limited third single ‘We Move’, available at all good record shops, especially this one, about now!
Yup – tis official, Room 13 clearly know their stuff and have rated their recent Everest single (out on Alcopop a few weeks ago via digital download only – buy here -) 10 out of 13… I won’t cut and paste the whole review, which can be read over here, but fo’ sho’ it’s a cracker:
“Exposing enough aggressive venom to have mosh pits swarming and fists frantically punching the air, CTBW sweep in with a killer blow as they release pop hooks that wield a fatal blow as ‘Everest’ lives up to its name with a sound that is undeniably huge.”
Look out for an EP on its way with summer!
Meanwhile, our erstwhile pals at the deliciously monikerd shitthreadsnofriends blog (who seem to specialise in scantily clad girls and boys pouting a lot, along with hot nuns in tights – good subject matter no denying), have picked up on my dazzling bag (it really is dazzling) that I found for 4 sheets in a bizarre Bristol bar sale, and run with the, I quote, “rock cum camp disco style”. Bangin’

Sorry about the lack of updates over the past couple of days. I’ve had a cracking couple of evenings attending BSM’s excellent pre-Summer party on Monday, only to be significantly impressed with the outstanding CTBW and Blakfish, find myself breaking the decks within a minute of beginning my DJ set –not to mention being questioned about my sexuality outside of the Camden Enterprise because of my long hair and glittery bag –yeah, it was pretty shiny I suppose.
Last night was obviously dominated by the Champions League Final (what a surprisingly good game), a whole host of frenzied gambling which left me overall 7p up *hmmm*, oh – and I came 3rd in a game of poker, smashing Kev BSM into a lowly 5th or 6th place. Hurrah! Tomorrow sees an epic trip to London to check out some Irish reggae in Brixton, catching a summery evening, and various other shenanigans. Can’t wait…
Anyway, this post is more of a quick thought really to let you know that as well as keeping checking the old Alcopop blog (RSS feed here) to find out what we’re going to be up to throughout the forthcoming busy summer months, you can sign up to our mailing list by dropping us your email address by clicking on this link, or join our group on Facebook if you’re so inclined. They’ll be no spam, just the odd monthly update on upcoming releases and such – oh, and if you have a relevant blog and fancy a link exchange or whatever, give us a shout.
