My First Tooth drop their first new album cut

Yeha, and hasn’t been a long time coming… But fear not good poppers, because as well as bopping from festival to festival and strutting around looking all handsome – My First Tooth have been hard at work in the studio. And here it is ayyyyye… The first cut from the brand new record, due in 2013.

Chances are, you may have heard this on Radio 1 where it was exclusively aired for the first time tonight.. Hope you enjoy, and feel free to download/ share/ pop over to a pressing plant and commit to a one-off vinyl to give to your mother for Christmas. They’re all good.

SO we’re working with FIERCE PANDA & ACRES OF LIONS

About ten or twelve years ago, a young Jack pOp (aggh I’m writing in the third person) – I went into HMV in Swansea and bought a sampler that changed my life. Sure I’d always been into indie music, but rarely had I considered the label the bands were on, or the spirit of labels not necessarily sat atop ivory towers tossing flowers at George Michael week in week out. That Sampler was the ‘Dead Cheap Fierce Panda Sampler’. Catchily named it wasn’t, awesome it was.

And soon, not only was I in love the label, but I had albums or had seen live 10 of the 15 bands on it, and very much fallen in love with the Panda into the bargain. Then they sent me some awesome white label test pressings for a university show I was doing at the time, and the love continued. It made me want to run an indie label, which somehow I’ve ended up doing. It’s not quite as glamorous as I hoped, but hey ho…

And so, when they got in touch with us to ask to help out with their latest signing Acres of Lions – we were very eager to listen. When we found out they sounded like a big happy mix between Tellison and the Gigolo Aunts, we were absolutely delighted! So officially we’ve leapt into bed with the Pandas for a month or two, and though notoriously difficult to pop into their office without being fascinated by Bellatrix masters or Llama Farmers posters, are really excited to be working with Ares of Lions – our second Canadian import in a couple of weeks…

And because they’re lovely like that, they’ve put together a rad UK sampler so you can hear what they’re all about. Free to download, GET>IT>HERE

I just wrote a mailout…Jurassic Park Sweaters anyone?

And it seemed to be pretty slap bang RAD, so I thought I’d slap it on the blog too. That’s lazy jourmalism right, but honest this baby has got so many free tracks, awesome things and general fun in it… It seemed silly not to! I guess the key things to take from it are that you must come and see us at SWN label market if you happen by… That we have lots of bloody awesome bands… You are great… AND WE NOW RETAIL SWEATERS INSPIRED BY BLOODY JURASSIC PARK*

Gunning for Tamar release FRESH new free download single!

So they’ve been heralded by The NME, Rocksound, BBC Radio 1, XFM and Radio 6 in the last few weeks, and had a rather strong festival season. So the news that Gunning for Tamar were keen to make their new single a free download is rather swell. It was briefly available on gorgeous A2 screenprint but has swiftly sold out, but if you want to stream, listen, download for free (and share if you like)… Well… It’s all yours brothers and sisters. Or you can buy it for 79p, but that would be silly right?

Without further ado, here is the track – and if you like it, we’d really appreciate it if you told a pal, tweet the link or hell, just enjoy it yourself. That’s enough for us :-) I think it sounds a bit like Reuben too….

Like it yeah? Well NME were particularly complimentary about it last week, and some of our most favourite DJs, Huw Stephens, John Kennedy, Jen Long, Ally McCrae, Sam Fox and Chris Martin have allll been playing it too.

Here’s a picture of them at Truck Festival
