With the downright sensational heritage that Freeze The Atlantic bought to the table, they were always destined to be one hell of a band – so when Andy Gilmour (Hundred Reasons) approached Guy Davis and Jon Pearce (Reuben) about starting a new project together – the rock nation doffed its cap and awaited with excitement. Andy swapped his bass for a guitar, and soon after they invited Tom Stevens (Archie & The Instincts) to expand their sound and begin work on their debut album 'Speakeasy'.

Fast forward to 2014, the arrival of new singer Liv Puente and the release of their second (self¬ titled) album, to significant praise from peers and critics alike. With a ‘KKKK’ Kerrang! album review and outstanding feedback from some of the most respected UK publications (NME and Rock Sound to name a few) FTA really built upon the success of their first record, garnering numerous airplay from the likes of Radio One (Huw Stephens) and XFM s plays tumbled in. The second album was altogether a heavier, smarter and more accomplished album; encompassing all of this bands’ writing abilities and representing their yearning for more. The release of ‘Freeze the Atlantic’ was followed by more touring and festival appearances than ever, further extending their fanbase, even taking time to soundtrack a stack of YouTube sensation Colin Furzes videos.

Following the release of an EP with Welsh buddies Samoans last October, FTA started working on what was to be their third album, which saw them decamp to Middle farm studios in Devon to work with acclaimed producer Pete Miles. The band decided this time to take full advantage of the incredible live room at the studio to record live together to capture a more organic, raw performance than heard on previous work. The result is a more natural and lively recording, which builds upon the intensity of the first two albums, with arguably their finest writing yet, all without treading the same path. You’ll be hearing (and no doubt loving) it real soon…
